This is called loudness equalization and what it does is it normalizes the waveform of audio playback. Essentially, it fixes this problem:
- Go to Control Panel, you can open it from Windows “Start”
- Search for “Sound” or select “Large Icons” in Control Panel display select and then select the Sound category
- Make sure you’re in the “Playback” tab and find the device you want to apply loudness equalization for
- Right click and select “Properties”
- Go to “Enhancements” tab
- Select the “Loudness Equalization” enhancement
And that’s it, the selected option will persist for the selected device even if you disconnect and reconnect it.
